Welcome to Smoke and Mirrors Project Support List.
Below are a number of projects that S&M supports.
We welcome other vampire groups, and individuals, to support these projects as well.

Most people who are unaware of the truth behind vampirism, think of vampires as a sick, twisted and phycologically damaged group.. not realizing that we come together as a group of individuals with common health problems, looking for sollutions, so that we may better fit in with mundane society, and still remain healthy.

Smoke and Mirrors Goal is to encourage Vampiric types of people to live healthier, happier and better adjusted lives.

Below are some of the projects we hope will better, further those goals.

Vampires Against Violence




The Vampire & Energy Work Research Survey is complete and now available in either online or printed form at

Purpose & Significance:
The Vampire & Energy Work Research Survey is conducted by the Atlanta Vampire Alliance [AVA] with support from various Houses and elders from the vampire community. This survey will address questions about the vampiric experience which have consistently been brought forward as concerns, either by members of the Community or by outside researchers in the professional or academic sectors. We have divided these concerns into the eleven topics which comprise the focus of this survey. We see these recurring questions as evidence of a need, felt by outside researchers and Community members alike, for a larger body of reliable knowledge about how vampires describe their personal experiences of dealing with their condition. We will attempt to gather data regarding these issues by researching specific cultural, physical, psychological, and emotional conditions that actually exist as written and reported from a vampire perspective. To this end, we intend to directly address these concerns: we will examine the different traits associated with the vampiric condition from feeding habits to psychic abilities; we will examine who vampires are, their backgrounds, educations, and religious or spiritual choices; we will gather data on how individuals experience their personal vampirism and how they experience the vampire community; and we will distinguish the differences between real vampirism and the role playing phenomenon.

S&M supports this large undertaking, and congratulates the AVA on its hard work and dedication to the Vampire Community and its long term well being.

VRC- Vampire Research SPACE

What is the VRC? the VRC is a unified effort to exchange information such as research, articles, current happenings and events between the vast number of varied organizations, houses, message boards and chat communities. for the purpose of furthering research into modern vampirism.

Vampire Research Space provides space for working on projects and research and way to exchange knowledge with others doing research in the community.

For the answers to these and other questions of interest to the Aging Vamp population the community is in the process of developing resources for those of us who are LONG past the age of Awakening!

If you're an over 40 vampire, with an interest in associating with other in your own peer group... If you are one of the 100s of vampires going through changes that only make sense to other aging vampyres, please get a hold of Lady CG for an invitation to the next Aging Vamp Conference.

Statement of Purpose for the S&M Support Board:

Most people, when they first stumble on Smoke and Mirrors assume I built it to be the community that appears before you now. In truth, it never started out this way.

S&M is an ever evolving place. We change the forums we make new ones, we move them around.
I did not come into S&M as an experienced board owner.. I was green as grass with only some egroup modding under my belt to help me along.
If I make mistakes I pray you'll bear with me and give me chances to fix them. I do lose my temper... be forwarned. This big elephant of mine, which I truly love, can be stressful.. if I'm out of sorts, leave me alone and I'll get over it very quickly. harrassing me gets people banned. **chuckles

Smoke and Mirrors began when an owner of another board said:
"if you want to discuss those kinds of topics do it on your OWN boards!"

I wanted to discuss Blood Rage. It was topic that was in NEED of being discussed, and at the time most places would not allow such violent subject matter, fearing legal repercussions.
So I built this place.

I had heard the saying "if you build it they will come" but I had never before actually seen it in action. I started to see this board as a place I could post ALL the vamp topics that could not be discussed on other boards, and a place to put the articles I was writing. I posted and people came.

THEN all the space here started to get to me... I had a hardrive that was BULGING with the magick and BOS stuff I'd been collecting for YEARS, from my BOS egroups.
Suddenly I had a place to put my collection and add to it.
And add we did. We now have one of the largest online BOS's ANYWHERE and its still growing daily. It is our goal, here at S&M, to create, maintain and develop the largest and most comprehensive resource of its kind on the net today. I encourage our members to find articles to discuss, and add to our collections.
**If you post an article found on another site PLEASE include a link back to the source so we can do the site the courtesy of giving them traffic, as well as check out any other links found on the site.

I dont' know what brought YOU to S&M. I dont' know where you come from or how you got here or even who or what you are. What I do know is YOU are welcome here. Please feel free to help yourself to our wonderful collections of information. Feel free to add articles and join in discussions.

When I went through awakening and all the evolving a vampyres goes through I went through it alone. what I discovered is that NO kin should have to go through it like that.
I am here to be supportive. I dont' have your answers. But I, and the regular members here, are here to help YOU find them for yourself.
